Privacy

The short version

Ex$ keeps the expenses you enter so you can see where your money went. It doesn't sell your data, show ads, or use trackers.

Screenshots you import are read on your own device and never uploaded.

What we store

Your account: your email, your password (stored only as a one-way hash, never readable), the name you chose and your language.

Your expenses: the date, amount, what it was, its category and an optional note.

Sign-in records: your sessions, with IP address and browser type, used to keep you signed in and to protect your account.

Who runs it for us

Your account and expenses are stored by Supabase (database and sign-in). The website is hosted by Vercel. Sign-in emails are sent from our own mailbox at Namecheap Private Email.

On sign-in pages, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you're not a bot. It sees your IP address and browser signals, never your expenses or password.

These providers handle data only to run Ex$.

On your device

To work offline, Ex$ keeps a copy of your expenses, changes not saved yet, and your preferences in this browser.

Signing out removes them. If someone else signs in on the same device, the previous person's copy is wiped first. Your language, currency symbol and dashboard period stay as preferences.

Photos and screenshots

Imported images are read by an engine that runs inside your browser. The image and the text read from it never leave your device. Only the rows you confirm are saved as expenses.

How long we keep it

Your account and expenses: until you delete them. A deleted expense is kept for 30 days so your other devices learn it was deleted, then it's removed.

Backups: encrypted copies of the database are kept for up to 90 days, to recover from accidents.

Service logs (IP addresses, and emails in sign-in logs, never your expenses) are kept for our providers' retention periods.

Deleting your account

Use Delete account at the bottom of the app. Your account and expenses are deleted from the live database right away, and this device's copy is cleared.

Copies in backups disappear as those backups expire (up to 90 days). If a backup were ever restored, deleted accounts would be deleted again. Emails already sent and files you exported stay where they are.

Your choices

You can see, correct and export your expenses at any time (Export → CSV or Excel), and delete them or your whole account. For anything else, write to support@useexs.app.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes too. Important changes will be shown in the app.
